Consistent window frames

For a consistent look, it is worth matching the colour of the window frame installed in the panel to the colour of the door. In addition, the window in the garage door will look good if it is visually matched to the window frames of the building.

Garage doors with windows should provide ample lighting for the space without excessive heat loss. For workshops and large garages, larger units are preferable, whereas a row of windows usually works well in garages located within the house. Panoramic units, on the other hand, are ideal for very long doors and for garages in modern homes. Using panoramic units (up to 5 metres long) creates a modern look and provides excellent lighting.

Thermal insulation

If the garage is heated or connected to the house, opt for double-glazed windows or those with the lowest possible U-value. Triple or quadruple-glazed windows are ideal as they provide the best thermal insulation.

Another common layout is windows or panels installed vertically (on one side of the door), which create a narrow, vertical strip. This layout provides an interesting visual effect, especially in doors with dark-coloured panels. In modern homes, however, minimalist, narrow glazing or stainless steel windows are often used.  Stainless steel windows used in garage doors are durable and resistant to corrosion and weather conditions.
